Treating Hemorrhoids So They're Gone, Once And For All

By Bob Proctor

Treating hemorrhoids can be confusing since there are so many options and so many companies touting their 'best' results. Suffering from hemorrhoids has become very common (in the Western world especially) and millions are seeking relief. Sufferers have one initial goal - to alleviate the pain, burning and itching. But, dealing with the symptoms is by no means an effective cure.

'Natural' cures exist and these are becoming a popular option. Some of them have been shown to work well. Other, more traditional methods such as drug therapy or medical (surgical and non-surgical) intervention are also available. In addition, drugstores stock various over-the-counter preparations (ointments, lotions, creams, etc.) meant to alleviate some of the painful symptoms.

There is a list of medical procedures available to deal with various types of hemorrhoids (including internal, external and prolapsed). Some are surgical and some are less invasive, such as rubber band ligation (which is the tying off of the hemorrhoids with rubber bands). Those opting for actual surgery will pay more for the procedure, undertake a greater risk and experience a longer recovery period. Surgery is usually only considered as a last resort.

Hemorrhoid sufferers have two problems with which they need to deal. First (and most obvious) are the painful symptoms (which typically include both burning and itching). Someone experiencing a painful outbreak of hemorrhoids wants relief and they want it NOW. You want these symptoms gone, yes, but you also want to take steps to insure that they don't return.

Products sold to relieve the pain and itching can be useful at the outset but will do nothing to address the imbalance within the body that is allowing the harmful condition to flourish. This can only be accomplished by getting rid of the causes. There are many.

Lifestyle changes can go a long way toward fixing the problem and preventing future outbreaks. Most people would do well to drink more water, consume more fiber in their diet and become more active (read: exercise regularly). Following these three guidelines can alleviate constipation, which is a major cause of hemorrhoids.

Websites specializing in treating hemorrhoids have become prolific and many have made a good business in this area. Since the number of those afflicted is so large the potential market is huge. Those having a tried and true method for alleviating this condition do well. Word of mouth travels fast and a product or system that is effective in helping people with this common condition has a great deal of upside potential.
