Great Quick And Easy Tricks For Treating An Uncomfortable Scabies Rash Fast

By Becca G Taylor

Scabies is an extremely contagious infection of involving a tiny itch mite on the skin. Even though the mites are very difficult to be seen, they can be spread very easily between people and households. If you find that you have a scabies rash, there are several things that you will need to do.

Some people feel that scabies is an infection that only effects people who lack personal hygiene. This is a commonly told myth and is not true. Anyone can catch scabies regardless of where they live and what type of environment they are used to. Having a scabies rash is something that doctors are trained to deal with, so if you feel that you may be infected there is no need to be embarrassed.

Many people are not sure if they have scabies because the mite is so small that you cannot see it crawling on the skin. One of the most common way to know that you have scabies is by the symptoms that you will experience.

One of the telltale signs of scabies is the terrible itching of the skin. Many people have reported that the itching is worse at night. Common areas for itching are the hands, feet, ankles and stomach. You may experience itching in some or all of theses areas, as each case is different from the last. Some people may itch all over the body, while others will only feel the symptoms in certain areas.

If you feel you might have gotten scabies, make an appointment with your family physician immediately. Scabies is highly contagious and you will continue to run the risk of infecting others that you come into contact with until you are treated properly by your doctor.

If after a physical exam by your physician it turns out that you have been infected by scabies, your doctor will typically write you a prescription for a cream that you can apply to rid yourself of the itch mites. In most cases, the cream is inexpensive and will rid you of the mites quickly.

When you return home from filling your prescription, you should shower well and cover yourself completely in the cream. Be sure to put the cream over your hair as well as your body. You may need to leave the cream on for at least 12 hours. Be sure to always read the directions for application on the prescription.

Once you have showered and applied the cream as directed, you will need to launder all of the bedding items that you have been in contact with. Have any children or family members in the household shower well. And wash all clothing in the home with hot soapy water and dry well on the hot setting of your dryer.
