The Trick To Treating Hemorrhoids Effectively

By Bob Proctor

The incidence of hemorrhoids has become all too common and statistics show that nearly three quarters of those living in the U.S. (adults) will eventually become sufferers. It's a lifestyle thing. If you've ever had hemorrhoids you know they're a literal pain in the butt and those afflicted have only one thing in mind - - relief.

There are a great number of 'cures' for this condition available, although some are definitely more effective than others. Natural remedies have been proven to be quite effective and most people suffering from hemorrhoids respond well to home treatment. There is also a long list of prescription and non-prescription remedies sold, although these tend to address symptoms rather than causes and their benefits can be short-lived.

It's agreed that surgical procedures should be considered only as a last resort. Most sufferers respond well to home treatments and surgeries are usually reserved only for advanced or extremely stubborn cases. Non-surgical medical procedures (such as rubber band ligation) have also proved to be effective, although they carry an increased risk of complications (including severe pain).

When dealing with hemorrhoids there are two separate areas that need to be addressed. First and foremost is the alleviation of the symptoms. The itching, pain and burning sensations that accompany the onset of a breakout are totally distracting and affect every area of activity in your life. You want the symptoms gone as quickly as possible, but you also want to make sure they don't return.

Most products on the market are designed for symptom relief but do nothing to address the underlying cause (which is the real problem). There is a reason your body is acting the way it's acting and you need to fix THAT problem, whatever it may be. Otherwise recurrences will continue and you'll never be 'cured'.

The fact is, if you're experiencing a problem with hemorrhoids you're either pregnant, over-weight, too sedentary in your lifestyle or you consume too little fiber and not enough water. The last two mentioned are prime contributors to constipation (which lends to straining during bowel movements, eventually leading to contracting hemorrhoids). All these (except maybe pregnancy) can be fixed by altering your lifestyle. It's up to you.

Because of the prevalence of hemorrhoid sufferers, the business of treating hemorrhoids has grown exponentially. Those offering effective products and/or programs have become quite effective at penetrating the market and have produced large numbers of satisfied and 'cured' clients. Some of the systems out there work well, while others fall short of this goal. Do your homework, then decide.
