How Is A Scabies Rash Detected

If a person has an itchy, red, blistered rash then it is very possible that could be a scabies rash. This is an infection that are caused by mini, little mites that tunnel under the skin and lay their eggs. The naked eye cannot detect mites, they can only be seen under a microscope.

It is very easy to pass scabies from person to person. Just a normal handshake can cause a scabies transfer. A hug or just a normal touch on the arm. Besides just being transferred by human contact, these little mites can also live on toys, stuffed animals, jackets, and blankets. Scabies will not usually go away without treatment, so it is best to make sure a person gets properly treated.

There are a couple of symptoms of scabies. Mostly, it is just extremely itchy, red, blistered skin. For the most part if can take a couple weeks or more for symptoms to show up. So it is possible to be infected and not be aware of it right away.

It is good to be treated for scabies as soon as it is known that someone is infected. It can be easily passed on to other members of the household. Make sure to use hot water to wash any clothing, sheets, towels, or blankets that might be infested. This way the mites as well as any eggs they may have been produced will be killed. An over the counter insecticide lotion can be purchased to treat the scabies.

It is possible to get scabies from just about anywhere. If there are people around then it is possible to get scabies. Anytime a rash develops then there is a possibility it could be scabies. If unsure, then visit a doctor or log onto the internet and look up scabies rash pictures to see if it looks similar to what is being experienced.

A family pet can catch scabies but not from humans. They have their own form of scabies. Humans also are not able to catch scabies from their pets. If a pet contracts scabies then it does need to be treated. Take the pet to the vet so they can get treatment otherwise it will be miserable from itching so much.

A Scabies Rash is a very miserable rash to get. Unfortunately, anyone can catch scabies. It is just so contagious. Just be sure to make sure loved ones are properly treated when it comes to having scabies and that all bedding, clothing, and towels are properly washed in hot water to help prevent reinfestation.
