Why Sleeping Is One Of The Most Important Activity In Your Life

Sleep is one of the very last thing that will comes to mind when they think of a healthy lifestyle, this is no accident as many feel that sleeping is a waste of time because they could have done something else with the time. What they forgot about sleep is that it actually has all the benefits that can keep you going, not to mention that a lack of sleep can usually leave you feeling unhappy and tired throughout the day.

If the above reasons are not enough to convince you to give your sleep more time tonight, then you need to read on to find out the rest of the benefits sleep can give you in this article. Lack of sleep affects you both mentally and physically, as such you really need to pay more attention to it.

Firstly when you sleep, your heart rate goes down, this is important especially for those with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as not enough rest and repair to our heart can escalate their illnesses. If you work your heart harder and longer than it is intended, it will eventually break down.

Another important reason why we need sleep is to help our body repair itself, as well as produce hormones that can help aid the immune system. Our immune system is responsible for warding off diseases and infections, therefore loss of sleep or a lack of it will lead to us falling ill more regularly.

Research have also linked an increase in body weight with a lack of sleep, this is because when you sleep the hormones that regulates your appetite will be produce, as such if you do not have enough of it you will feel hungry all the time even though you are not. This will no doubt lead to overeating and gaining more weight in the process.

Long term memories and learning retention also happened when you sleep, think of it as the opportunity for our brain to store information we've learned throughout the day. Sleep also promotes easier recalling of information in your brain.

Thus sleeping really do pays off, it will make sure that you can go the extra distance with enough sleep. You really should pay more attention to the importance of sleep and as such allocate much more time in doing this, as it will often lead to a healthier and better lifestyle.
