An Ounce Of Prevention Is Worth A Pound Of (Hemorrhoid) Cure

By Bob Proctor

According to some new statistics, one-half to three-fourths of American adults will suffer from hemorrhoids (also known as piles') at some time. I wonder if this qualifies as an epidemic. Those are big numbers. If you're a sufferer, finding a hemorrhoid cure is probably near the top of your list.

Several options exist to deal with hemorrhoids (also called 'piles'). For the sufferer, the main aim is to alleviate the pain, burning and itching that are the primary symptoms. Natural 'cures' are touted all over the market, but most people will initially try some medications sold over the counter at the pharmacy. As a last resort, various surgeries are sometimes performed to deal with the illness.

An ounce of prevention is still worth a pound of cure and there are ways to prevent (or diminish the likelihood) of hemorrhoids occurring in the first place. Prolonged sitting should be avoided, diets should be high in fiber, plenty of water should be consumed, and one's lifestyle should become less sedentary. These are all prevention methods to keep hemorrhoids at bay.

Most people, unfortunately, don't drink enough water, consume enough fiber or get enough regular exercise. All these can lead to constipation (which can be a precursor to contracting hemorrhoids). If your job involves sitting for long periods make sure to incorporate regular breaks so you can move around and get the blood flowing.

Because the incidence of hemorrhoids is so great there is a lot of material out there dealing with this topic. Many businesses have been formed to provide different products or systems that can help sufferers not only cure the problem but also prevent it from returning in the future. This is a wide-open area of opportunity.

Most sufferers who look for help at the drug store (by way of creams, lotions, potions and ointments) become frustrated. While these items may initially help quell some of the pain, itching and burning associated with the illness, their relief is usually short-lived and the problem returns, sometimes with a vengeance. The only true cures are those that alter the condition of the body within. Addressing merely the symptoms is a recipe for recurrence.

It's not difficult to find a hemorrhoid cure... the trick is to find one that actually gets good results. The best advice remains, as always, to find some sites and read some reviews. Find out what others have to say about the program you're looking at. And make sure to use a site that has a LONG list of satisfied customers.
