One of the most inspiring movie of all time, 7 pounds by Will Smith portray how an act of compassion and selflessness can bring about the changes and happiness in other people's life. While you might think that it is very complicated to go about becoming a donor, it is not. The act of donating your organs when you are deceased will no doubt make a world of difference to those who are in need of it.

Here is what you need to do to become a donor:

-Becoming a donor is as simple as filling up a form, and most states actually encourages this act. When you renew your driving license in your local Department of Motor Vehicle, you might be presented with this opportunity. Alternatively if you've known a donor or a friend who have signed up, simply ask about the procedure.

-You even have the option to choose which part of your organs and tissues to be donated out, all you need to do is make sure you've stated clearly about your choice when registering.

-Always carry your donor card in your wallet, this way if severe accident happens they'll be sure to honor your wishes.

-Let your close ones and loved ones know about this decision, that way they too can honor your request. Sometimes complication can happen when the family of the deceased do not know about the deceased's wishes and thus overwrite the decision. Making sure they understand and accept your decision is part of your responsibility as a donor.

By making sure that your organs does not go to waste if anything happens, you are helping millions of people who are in need of organs. Do not worry if your organs might go to waste, because the strict criteria for transplant list and the overwhelming demand you can be assured that you are doing a good course. Just be sure to decide sooner rather than later if you have been thinking about it.
