Why Higher Blood Pressures are Dangerous in the Active Young Adults

By Christian Goodman

This has been published in recent article on NPR. Many health experts suggest that children especially who are sports men are affected by heart disease.

Mostly one in 100,000 young adults this happens, moreover the men who are not sportsmen are 3 times away from death when compared to men who are sportsmen. The young adults who are aged from 12 to 24 may die suddenly due to heart failure. The reasons for these deaths are may be sudden malfunction of the heart, and high blood pressure that results in heart attack.

Why the Athletic Kids?

Most people would assume that the kids who are less active are at a greater risk, but research has shown that the exact opposite is true. It is when young adults are on the field, in the gym, or on the track that they are exerting the most strain on their hearts. Houston cardiologist, Thomas Debauche, says, "It's pretty much while they're in training or while they're on the field performing, because that's when the adrenalin is flowing." It is the peak demands on the heart that causes the failures.

However, don't be misled by these results. Young adults should be active - that is what is healthiest for them IF they do not suffer from any underlying medical or heart conditions or problems. Most of the young athletes who suffer heart failure during sports have an undiagnosed inherent condition that existed prior to the activity, whether it is high blood pressure or abnormal heart structure. The problem is that most students are not required to have anything more than a basic physical to participate. So if your child has a heart condition, you may not even know about it.

Later tests were taken to him and found that he has a heart defect i.e. a coarctation of his aorta, he has been suffering from this for seventeen years. If his high blood pressure has been checked before he would have not suffered from weakness, fatigue and chest pain. In a family in Connecticut, their elder son whose father is a cardiologist is an athlete. He led a very healthy life unaware that his blood pressure is very high, as no tests were taken because he was healthy. The high blood pressure began to affect his performance while he is on the track and also in the classroom.

Children do not know about their health whether they are normal or any problems are there. This is the right time for them to know about their personal information about their health. So it is the duty of the parents and physicians to check the health and heart conditions of the children to avoid certain deaths.

Cardiologist Dr. Debauche, after a research with 2,000 high school athletes found that 10% of the athletes had abnormal heart beats, most of the students were undergoing treatments for high blood pressure and 1% of the students were advised not to play sports again.

Hey Parents! Symptoms to Watch Out For

Children do not know exactly what is going on within them. So it is important to the parents not to ignore the child's fatigue, it may result in heart failure too. These are the symptoms for heart defect.

Always getting tired

! Vision changes

Continuous headaches

Huge amount of sweating

Breathing problem

vomiting sensation

noise in ear

Some changes in heartbeat

Pain in chest

Symptom of always confused

Blood in nose

The insidious thing about high blood pressure in children and athletes is that there many be no symptoms at all. It is for this reason that many doctors, even pediatricians, are recommending to get kids checked out.

The natural health care is a precaution if there are symptoms of high blood pressure in children. The natural and traditional health treatments and diets can be followed to have good health care.

The natural health controls can be a very opt way for children to have control over their health conditions

This high blood pressure can be controlled by natural high blood pressure exercises that people can do to reduce blood pressure quickly and efficiently. If you would like to know more about these exercises, check out our natural blood pressure program
