What Are The Benefits of A Colon Detox?

By Rosemary Gooding

Bowel management, there I've said it, those two words we don't like to talk about. But sadly they need to be talked about. Its not as if constipation is a new thing and I should know I suffered with it for years. But what we don't seem to accept is that we are adding to the problem with poor eating habits, indigestable food and not enough nutrional meals with fresh vegetables and good fats. We spend a fortune on attending to how we look externally and some of us even exercise, probably not enough though. But to address the problems associated with a toxic colon, such as constipation, tiredness, feeling bloated, headaches, skin problems etc. we need to clean from the inside out not the other way round.

In fact our body tries to tell us it is in stress mode and we frequently continue to ignore the signs. If you are continually feeling tired and sluggish, everything seems to ache, you suffer from diarrhoea, constipation, or a feeling of clumsiness, it's quite likely that your system is in need of a detox. Rapid weight gain and the incapacity to lose the excess weight can also be signs of having a toxic system that needs either a colon cleanse or a full body detox.

Having a toxic system can affect your whole body fitness and health. Moreover, the toxins found in the body are located and stored on your fat cells. None of this is good news for your liver and other organs that are frantically trying to keep your system clean. Detoxing your body and cleaning the unwanted garbage from your cells, requires a lot of work from those organs that process the elimination, but continually ignoring the signs will send them into meltdown.

There are specific organs in your body whose primary function is to get rid of waste material in the body. Your liver produces many substances and maintains the balance of many nutrients. Our body makes many waste products which can be excreted only by the liver. Since the liver can be affected by many things heavy usage of drugs, alcohol etc can all damage the liver. However a lot of this can be prevented by a colon cleanse or body detox to ensure your system is getting all the help it needs unimpeded by excess waste materials.

Another organ with an important role is the spleen. It filters the blood to take out all the old worn out red blood cells and then destroys them. They are replaced by new red blood cells that are made in the bone marrow. The spleen also filters out bacteria, viruses and other foreign particles found in the blood. White blood cells in the spleen attack bacteria and viruses as they pass through.

What do your kidneys do? Your kidneys play a major role in the balances of the body and control many vital body functions, this is another reason to ensure they are kept clean and functioning at optimum performance. The major role of the kidneys is to remove waste from the blood and eliminate it in the urine.

The lungs are the organs that keep the blood air purified, they transport oxygen directly to the bloodstream. Your lungs are also responsible in removing the waste gases found in every cell of the body. Deep breathing and fresh air is very helpful in keeping the lungs healthy and free from toxins. If you live in an urban area, try taking a trip when possible to a less polluted area where you can indulge in some deep breathing of fresh oxygenated air.

Once our body is detoxed are not kept overworked dealing with all these cleansing process, it can its focus on doing the more important things like fighting back cancer and chronic degenerative diseases, restoring our health, and repairing the damage in our body.

There are lots of detoxification programs around both commercial and natural ones that you can do without chemical assistance, and fairly inexpensively. Don't put this off any longer it won't go away without some help from you.
