Quest For A Male Baldness Cure

By Carly Haley

Baldness is on the rise in our times, due to any number of factors, from the food that we eat, to exposure to chemicals, to genetic reasons. Regardless of what the reason is, the fact remains that people are losing hair, and they want to do something about it. So it follows that there are so many products available for those seeking a male baldness cure.

Baldness is an emotional issue because those with thick hair are considered youthful and energetic, but those without hair are considered to be old. Everybody wants to look young, so when they start losing their hair they become desperate to find a cure.

Since there is so much demand for finding a male baldness cure, there is also a corresponding number of products that claim that they are the solution. There are many ads in television and print media, and they are permitted to make any claim they want, even false ones, as long as they are not known to be harmful.

According to dermatologists, however, there is no single treatment that can solve hair loss for everyone. Each patient's situation has to be considered on a case by case basis. Treatment has to be decided based on a number of different factors.

Many pills are available for treating hair loss, but these should be taken with caution, after discussion with a doctor. Propecia is one of the most commonly prescribed medicines, but it only works in certain cases of baldness, and to a limited extent.

Rogaine is a product which has shown to have some success in slowing down the rate of baldness, but it can hardly be considered a complete cure since it cannot completely regrow lost hair. It is applied to the scalp using a spray or a dropper.

Lots of herbal and natural products, as well as techniques like electromagnetic scalp massage, or advertised as being effective, but other than testimonies from people who claim that they work, there are no independent studies to back up their success.

Regardless of the product one uses, one must be aware that there is a real possibility of side effects. Even if a drug has been approved by a regulatory agency, there is no guarantee that they will not cause harm. Drugs are approved only insofar as they are not known to cause significant danger, using trials which are sometimes incomplete. Longer term studies are needed before one can say with certainty that something is safe.

Hair transplantation is the most successful solution for baldness. This is a surgical technique where hair is removed from areas where it grows, usually at the back of the head, and transplanted to the bald region. Only a finite number of hairs can be transplanted in this way, so one will not end up having a head thick with hair. But if the doctor performing the procedure is skilled, then they can cover enough of the scalp to cover the baldness and divert attention from it. Because it is surgery there will be some pain, but this will go away after a couple of days.

Lots of people claim that they have found a male baldness cure, but don't believe everything you read or hear. You should perform thorough research before you decide to spend money on anything, otherwise you may end up spending it for nothing.
