The most frequent panic attack symptoms are solely physical. In a few cases, the individual suffering from it may experience a heart attack. They are afraid it could happen when they are driving or shopping in a mall or even while sleeping. Since this fear disrupts their social life, close relatives and friends need to give them proper understanding and attention.

It certainly isn't a hopeless situation because there are effective treatments available. While medication may be warranted in a worst case scenario, it is also quite possible to get a handle on panic attacks through developing coping skills and going through counseling.
