By James Briggs

Hemorrhoids can cause a great deal of discomfort. A number of different things cause hemorrhoids. Constipation is one of them. In your anus and rectum there are the veins that produce hemorrhoids. They swell up and become irritated. This can be a real discomfort.

So, how can you be rid of hemorrhoids? There are some methods that will help if the hemorrhoids are not badly bleeding. You can do a number of things at home to alleviate the problem. Some of them work best when combined with another remedy. Just try each of them until you find the one that works best for you.

1) Warm Bath - Immerse yourself in a warm bath. So that your rectum and anus can be reached by the water, bend your knees upward. It will not only treat the pain. This will also bring more blood to the area. This will assist in the shrinkage of the hemorrhoids.

2. Witch Hazel - This is the remedy that is best out there, some say. Begin by gently washing your anus and rectum. Pour some Witch Hazel onto a Q-tip. Swab the rectal area gently. This will help the hemorrhoids shrink.

3) Exercise - This increases your blood circulation. Three times per week, for thirty minutes, take a walk. The blood will circulate in the hemorrhoids and they will be assisted in shrinkage by this.

4) Fiber - Begin consuming more foods rich in fiber. Whole grains and fresh vegetables are high fiber foods. Your stools can be bulkier and looser by using fiber. This will prevent you from becoming constipated and assist in the prevention of hemorrhoids.

5) Liquid intake - Increase the amount of water you drink. Eight to ten cups of water daily is what you require. This will assist with loosening your stools which will, in turn, assist with the swollen hemorrhoids.

6) Avoidance of certain drinks and foods - Hemorrhoids are not actually caused by certain foods. Instead, they will be bothered by them. Stay away from eating spicy foods. And be careful with how much alcohol and coffee you're consuming.

7. Hemorrhoidal Ointments - Purchase an effective ointment. Use water and soap to wash the areas that are affected. Use the ointment every day and after each bowel movement. From this you will obtain pain relief and the hemorrhoids will shrink.

There are many treatments available for hemorrhoids. Curing hemorrhoids isn't expensive. Many of the methods for hemorrhoid treatment do not cost anything, and you can do them yourself.

People are generally embarrassed to have hemorrhoids. They feel isolated, like they are the only ones with the problem. This can cause a great deal of embarrassment. However, 75% of the American population has had hemorrhoids.

But there is a remedy. If the hemorrhoids are not too severe, and the bleeding isn't bad, you can eliminate them altogether. One cure is not all there is. Every one of these methods is a wonderful way to eliminate hemorrhoids. But you might have to combine some of them.
